As all too many people are keenly aware Kleenmaid went into administration in 2009 with debts in excess of $100 million. Countless customers were affected by this, through loss of warranty, extended warrantees sold up until days before the closure & a large number loosing thousands of dollars in deposits paid for appliances. Thornbury Electrics, being the largest service agent for Kleenmaid in WA, felt the effects too when Kleenmaid failed to pay their accounts prior to announcing they were going into voluntary administration.
Moving forward it’s been 7 years and we are still providing service to our Kleenmaid customers.
Your appliance is getting a bit older and starting to require service – in most cases this is not a problem. We currently tend to 20-30 Kleenmaid appliances a week – ovens, gas, electric & induction cooktops, rangehoods, clothes dryers, coffee machines, dishwashers & steam ovens.
Kleenmaid sourced appliances from Brandt, Elica, Fagor, GE, IAG, Gorenje, Speed Queen & more. Most of these companies continue to manufacture products on behalf of other brands meaning we can purchase spare parts for a large number of appliances sold under the Kleenmaid banner.
With some appliances, it may be no longer economical to repair or small components may not be available rendering them irreparable. Where this is the case we can advise which brands will be the most suitable replacement – in some cases the newer upgraded version of what’s been installed is available. Generally, for the price of a service call, this can be advised and the next steps talked through with our technician.
Being one of the only companies in Western Australia with extensive experience in Kleenmaid appliances, we are Perths first choice. We also have resources of all repair documentation, service manuals & service bulletins. Don’t risk getting bad information condemning your Kleenmaid appliance. Call Thornbury Electrics on (08) 9367 8840 for an honest opinion based on years of experience.
Please note: In December 2009 Compass Capital Partners acquired the Kleenmaid brand and have created the “Next Generation” Kleenmaid appliance collection. If you wish to purchase a Kleenmaid product please see the Kleenmaid website for details.
