A few words from our Director, Paul Thornbury:
Growing up in my childhood home on Dyson Street, Kensington has left me with many fond memories and a soft spot for the suburb. This is also where my parents first started the family business in 1987.
Kensington Primary School was my local and even today, many of my childhood friends still live in the area. It brings me great joy as the second generation Director of Thornbury Electrics knowing that many of the homes in the area have been worked on by the company over the years. The nostalgia of still working in the same homes today but with new owners and chatting about the heritage of the area gives me a warm feeling.
I loved growing up in Kensington where there was a strong sense of community. A lot of our neighbours are still friends of the family today. After 10 years in Kensington, the family moved to South Perth where they still are today and I now live close by in East Victoria Park with my family.
It’s great to still be a part of that neighbourhood community I grew up with. I’m a big believer in supporting local by shopping local and using small businesses in the area as much as possible!
